Summary

Our group company JEVIC Co Ltd conducts pre-shipment inspections for export used cars to over 14 territories. This inspection includes road safety, biosecurity and quarantine components, and is available to companies outside our group. Vehicle Inspection New Zealand Limited conducts import vehicle and domestic inspections for our New Zealand customers.

Characteristic

High quality inspection and biosecurity

JEVIC Co Ltd is certified at international standard (ISO/IEC17020) and by the New Zealand Transport Agency and Ministry for Primary Industry with regard to the fairness and consistency of its inspection operations.

In 2018, Brown Marmorated Sting Bug (BMSB), specified as a pest in New Zealand, was found in import vehicles from Japan. To comply with stricter regulations, our group developed a heat treatment facility that terminates the pest found on vehicles with high heat prior to export. This facility was patent registered in November 2019 in Japan, and has also been patent registered in New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Europe, Korea and other territories.

Services for external clients

JEVIC Co Ltd provides inspection and biosecurity services to external clients outside our group pre-export. Vehicle Inspection New Zealand also offers inspections for imported and locally bought vehicles to external customers and dealers.

Confidential and independent

All our Optimus Group customers can be assured of trusted, independent inspection protocols. Our Code of Conduct contains regulations regarding any conflict of interest or confidentiality issues that may arise during inspections. Protecting the independence of our inspection processes is paramount within the group.

Export Plant quarantine inspection certification

In March 2023 JEVIC Co Ltd achieved certification for the export plant quarantine Inspection - the first private company registered by the Japan Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. This certification allows detailed inspection including PCR analyses of export and domestic seeds and crops, and inspection of used agricultural machinery for export.
